Amendment 3

As Christians, we need to vote NO on Amendment 3!

At Wentzville Christian Church, we base our beliefs on the Holy Word of God, and Scripture verifies that life begins at conception. The price of Christ’s blood paid for all people, at all time, those inside and outside of the womb.  We know that an preborn baby is a living, precious soul and, thanks to state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, it’s evident that preborn babies react to stimuli and feel pain.  The Lord makes it very clear that the child in the womb is not merely a fetus, but a human being with a soul, from conception on.  Jeremiah 1:4-5 says, Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you. That verse is almost beyond our comprehension, isn’t it?

Scripture also warns us, in many ways, that taking a human life is wrong.  In fact, “Do not Kill” is one of our Ten Commandments.  Through verses recorded throughout the Bible, God consistently emphasizes the sanctity of life.

Abortion is currently against the law in the state of Missouri.  Right now, parents have the lawful right to guide their children and make all medical decisions, whether minor or life-changing, on their behalf.  However, this could very well change after our upcoming election on November 5.  On the ballot this year will be Amendment 3.

Amendment 3, if approved, would:

  1. Legalize abortion in Missouri for the entire 40-week term of a pregnancy, up to the moment of birth
  2. Remove parental notification and consent requirements, allowing minors to undergo an abortion without informing their parents or guardian
  3. Take away some of the restrictions that are necessary to the health and safety of the mother and child

This amendment will not only allow abortions without parental consent, but may also circumvent parental authority by allowing schools to make decisions, such as gender-affirming care, for our children without our consent.  This would force Christians to conform with the world’s view on gender, sexuality, etc.  and that is surely not what the Lord wants.  In Matthew 5:13 and 14, we are directed to be salt and light in this dark world, showing God’s love and truth, not conforming to the ways of the world.

We are in a battle for the physical and spiritual lives of our children, both born and unborn.  As Christians, we must be bold and speak up for the rights of our children, who are loved by God and created in His image!  Please join with us in taking a stand for Biblical truth by voting NO to Amendment 3 on November 5.
